WHITE COLLAR

The promotion is now official I am now a white collar worker. I work in transportation department arranging transporters to move trucks on and off rent. It is not to hard and very fast paced. I also have to wear a suit or sport coat everyday, looks like my new suits are going to get some good use.

Remembering A Year Ago!!!

As Most of you remember last year at this time I was unemployed, Laura was expecting our second son and things were tight from paycheck to paycheck when I had a Job. Then through a single act of kindness things started to change though we didn't know it at the time. This act was the delivery of a small jar stuffed with change, then a week later an anonymous card left on our porch with a few hundred dollars in it. It took me two months before I was even able to get any kind of work, I was first put to work for a temp agency at a metal finishing company, it wasn't great but it was work. I had all but given up on getting something when someone at school told me to give the job hunt one more shot so when I got home I got on to the state employment website and saw a job that looked promising, so I emailed my resume not thinking any thing would come from it. The next day while driving home from my temp job I received a phone call from the Director of Operations at Barco Rent-A-Truck wanting to set up an interview so I headed right over. The interview was just describing the job and asking me a few basic questions about my resume, then the offered me the job and said that I would start that next monday if I wanted it. I took the job and it has turned out to be a wonderful career. Since taking the job I have gone from making 10.00 hr with medical benefits and vacation, to a GREAT salary paid benefits a drive ride and now a promotion inside to work in Transportion aranging delivery of trucks going on and off rent. This job has been a great blessing and we never stop thanking the Lord for Every thing we have been given. We were also blessed this year to purchase our first home and enjoy living in Layton. Below I have pasted a copy of the article done on our receiving the christmas jar last year just to see some of the changes we have been through. Fictional story inspires real-life donations

It's only a book, but for many families "The Christmas Jar" is a real gift.

It's a story about a young newspaper reporter seeking to uncover the secret behind glass jars filled with coins and bills that are being left anonymously for people in need.

The fictional story inspired many real-life donations. Brooke Walker introduces us to a Utah family who experienced the blessing of the Christmas Jars, firsthand.

Last week Nate Moore lost his job and learned his wife Laura is pregnant with their second child, all on the same day.

This young family was already struggling to stay afloat. And, with their financial obligations mounting, the usual joy felt at this season was not present.

"This Christmas I was not in the spirit of it because everything was going by so fast," they said. "I was a little too worried about how we were going to pay bills."

Until a stranger came to their door.

"A knock came at the door, and there was a lady standing there. I had never seen her. She said, 'Are you Laura Moore?' I said, 'Yes.' She said, 'I have a delivery for you,' and then just turned around and walked off. As I stepped back inside I noticed there were a bunch of coins inside, and as I turned it over I saw a $100 bill," Laura said.

This stranger brought hope to a family in need.

"After this happened, it kind of just woke me up to the love that there is in the world. We just barely moved into the area. It just really surprised me that there was such a generosity toward a family that they don't know," Laura said.

Nate said, "At first it made me feel bad because I didn't want to be a charity case. But the more I think about it, it is just very humbling that someone would go out of their way to help out."

And the phenomenon isn't confined to this young family. Others have been touched by the message of the Christmas Jars.

This Christmas Jar has just changed hundreds if not thousands of lives. The miracle is not in the jar, it's in what happens after it is given. And that is why people are compelled to tell the story.

I am so ready to go to vacation. Next weekend is not going to come quick enough. I was just informed yesterday that I don't get the cabin for New Year's so I am relieved that we still get to use it. Only thing else left to say is "HOT TUB here I come."

NEW TRUCK

So we got the trucks at work today. We are now using the new 2009 Ram Crew Cab, with a 5.7 HEMI engine. So of cousre once the "BOSS" got to work he told us to switch out everyone's drive rides.
They are nice sit a little lower to the ground then the 2500 cummins but still has the power. You'll have to come visit if you want a ride!!!

We went to look at the house in Layton again, this time we took Dad Genther with us to look around and see what he thought. He was impressed; he definitely saw some things that we wouldn't have. While we were on our way home our realtor called us and let us know that the sellers had accepted our offer that we put in yesterday of 134,000. We are know just in negotiating and waiting for our loan to go through.

GOING BACK TO SCHOOL

Well I have decided to go back to school, well not as a student anyway, I am going to be working in the weekend clinic as a clinic staff member. My job will be to work the register, check clients into there massage with therapist, check out therapists, bundle used laundry, and be there to answer questions for the students.
It is only part time on weekends but as many of you know Laura and I are in the house hunting market, and we hope to be in a house no later the the end of the year, so any little bit extra income will help especially since as of right know the only things we are really finding are in layton.

More Fringe Benefits at Work

So I was given more benefits at work last week. Access to the bosses three boats, a Nordic jet boat, a Chapparal, and a Bayliner. Today we were in Park City at the Outlet stores and we saw these cute cocker spaniels that were playing. We have been thinking about getting a dog for a long time and these were pure breed with papers for a very good price. so we had to get him. The one we got is the smaller of the 2 and was best around Asher and Damian. Only problem now is we can't think of a name so we want your help. These are some of the names we liked, Parker, Koda, Cody, Reno, Srtiker, Tanger if you like any of these or have any better ideas let us know we will be waiting.

So as Laura has let everyone know I got wonderful news at work this week. I am now a salaried employee making 40,000 dollars a year. and the fun didn't stop there I was offered a drive ride. A drive ride is a truck to use for my own personal use. The company pays for the insurance and the truck I just get to drive it and put fuel in it. Needless to say at this point when we move to Logan after I graduate I will still work there. well only one for final left this week and it is the one I am most worried about. I will right more after this week.

So finals were two weeks ago and i did very well I got A's in every class, well all but one my clinic internship only had four sessions last quarter and you can not miss any and if you do you have to make it up but you don't get the points back from that session. I missed the first clinic because i was sick with the flu and could not get out of bed so my grade went to a C.
Also that same week at work after only working there 4 weeks my manger pulled me aside and let me know that I was receiving a dollar raise affective immediately and that when my medical benefits start up on June first they will be 100% paid for by the company. What a blessing considering the package for family is $122 a paycheck that the company will now pay. YEAH!!!

So work is going well. I enjoy it for the most part I just wash and detail Dodge Ram pickups, but once in awhile the bosses cars need a little shining up. His cars consist of 4 ferrari's a mercedes s45 plus others that I haven't seen yet. I also wash the limo about once a week. Sometimes I take cars to the shop or deliver trucks being rented locally. This past week we got over 100 new trucks in so that means we take all the plastic out and clean the windows. Not to stressful of a job though. School is going well I have finals next week which means what little extra time I have3 is studying and that free time is shortened now that I have started my weekend Student Clinical Internship. On the upside I am on the downhill stretch only 2 more quarters left. If I pass all my classes i will graduate on Aug. 8. So when I am not working or doing school its getting ready for the baby to come, taking care of laura and the apartments and of course Damian makes sure that he has my undivided attention whenever he can.

YES I FINALLY GOT A JOB!!!!!

So yes it is true today i got a job at Barco Rent-a-Truck. Barco is the leading truck rental in Salt Lake. The rent out Dodge Ram pickups to Corporate Businesses only. I was hired on as a Fleet Lot Manager, which in tales taking care of the rental lot, detail trucks, doing local deliveries, and anything else the tell me to do. Pay isn't bad considering, I start a 10.00 an hr with benefits. Benefits include Payed holidays at time of hire, payed vacation at 6 months, and medical benefits starting in 90 days. work schedule is great to 8-5pm mon-fri no weekends. I was hired on the spot. I had emailed them my resume last night and they called me this afternoon and meet with them for a few minutes and they told me to came back monday at 8 to start work. I am glad that I never gave up looking even when nothing seemed to be working I just kept applying.

So one good thing going for me right now is that school finally started up again on Monday. I also got my grades from last quarter back and I brought my GPA up from 3.33 to 3.56. That helps take my mind off of the fact that I am now going on to my 6th week of being unemployed. I have sent out so many resumes that I have now lost count. If any one hears of any jobs in the Salt Lake area let me know. Another good thing that is going on right know is that I am getting to spend so much time with Laura and Damian.

Jason Wright and his publicist were touched by our Christmas Jar story so much that they are having us share it with local media. KSL is coming today to do a story on us, it will air on Friday. We are excited to share our story, so we can publicly thank our angle, and hopefully get others in the spirit of giving and thinking about others more then themselves. Last week I was listening to a local radio station on my way to school and they asked for text messages on what you fell we had more of all year that we see during the Christmas season. I said that kind-hearted people. think of how much happier everyone would be through out the year if they were thinking about others and being nice and even just saying hello to a stranger. I hope that we can all be a little nicer, a little more kind, and a little more loving, not just during the holiday season but all year.

So the Lord does work in mysterious ways. We were sitting here this morning and we got a knock on the door. There ways a lady their that Laura didn't know holding a jar and a book. The book is Christmas Jars, and in the jar a houndred dollar bill and a bunch of change, in all it adds up to about 180.00. Now Damians parents will have a christmas too, and Damians will be even nicer. And will have gas money to drive to logan and springvill for the holidays. This whole exprience this week has been very humbling.

BAD NEWS

As some of you probably have heard I was let go from my job on Monday. I was driving a box truck for Corporate Express and was in two minor accidents involving buildings and my truck, there policy is you can't have more than one in a ninety day period so the had to fire me. The upside is that it gave time to study for finals this week which has payed off, I have got A's on two of them and I have 1 more tomorrow. Any prayers or fasts you can send our way would really be appreciated.

Laura and I were able to go to the Temple on Saturday And though I hate to admit it at first I really didn't want to go, but I am glad that I decided to go. We went to the Jordan River Temple, this was the second time since our sealing there that we have been able to go their. Gran was able to take Damian so that we could go, So to thank her we took her to our favorite restaurant THE DODO at the Gateway. It is such great food and everyone that we have taken have throughly enjoyed it.
